![]() We had an area we wanted to camp which were the campsites at the back of the campground #71 and up. ![]() Due to the marsh and water in the area it’s likely you may see moose either near or far away in the grasslands. Timber Creek is usually the area where you can see the most moose. Along the way we encountered Big Horn Sheep, Colorado’s state animal and one we have been wanting to see for quite some time, and moose. We weren’t in a hurry as we wanted to make sure to enjoy it and show our friend from out of town around. We made our way to RMNP around 12 and made our way through the park on a 4th of July weekend. Timber Creek campground is a first-come first serve. Logs were available that you can buy at the campsite which we had to buy because we didn’t bring our own thinking there was a. The fee was $20 per night and although there was a fire nearby a couple of weeks ago we were able to burn a fire. Despite it also being summer we didn’t hear a lot of kids running around. I will say despite the site being close to the entrance and the road our stay was pretty quiet. By the time we got to the campsite all those were taken and we had to settle for a site near the entrance. ![]() ![]() ![]()
